Concrete Benchtops Starbucks Concept Store in Austin

Massif Concrete was honored to be involved in the new concept Starbucks that just opened in Austin, Texas at the W Hotel, located on 3rd and Lavaca. We cast the exterior concrete benchtops.  We also fabricated the metal table bases with concrete table tops for the exterior sidewalk tables. We’re not sure if the architect intended it, but we think the concrete color is close to UT burnt orange.  Well, that’s our take on it anyway. Our client Panterra Construction was happy.

Floating Concrete Lavatory

For this West Austin remodel, Massif produced a 10 foot long concrete master lavatory.  The single piece was cast, flipped, sealed and installed on site.  At over a thousand pounds, the sink is made to “float” on hidden steel supports.  It features a 5 foot long wedge basin with two faucets, two drains and ample countertop room on either side of the sink.  Thanks to Watermark Homes.

It’s time for the 12th annual East Austin Studio Tour:

Sat & Sun, Nov 16-17 & 23-24, 11am-6pm

It’s a great opportunity to see Austin artists with their work, and shop for unique local handcrafted gifts.  Come visit us at Smith Rd Studios (1406 Smith Rd, #46 on the EAST tour map).  We share the space with a bunch of great resident artists, including Tito’s Vodka (pouring free drinks the second weekend), Flatfork Studios (one of a kind sculpture), Anderson Ceramics, Little Minnow screen printing, Resonance Studios holography and photography, and Paleo Denim custom jeans.

Massif Concrete is going to be in full production mode for this year’s tour.  The first weekend we’ll be featuring 3 large fireplace hearths, freshly poured and still upside down in the mold.  By the second weekend, the concrete hearths should be out of the mold and on display.

All concrete planters (ordered and in stock) are 15% off during EAST.
